“A stunning performer, band leader and musician”
-Dr Toby Young, Musical Supervisor, Punchdrunk
Drawing upon over 25 years teaching and gigging experience, Ellie combines her background as a performer, multi-instrumentalist and orchestral musician with a strong focus on rock, immersive, and contemporary theatrical art forms. Equally comfortable on stage, as a musical director sitting behind the keyboard, or teaching a group of students, Ellie has established strong international connections with an inspiring and diverse network of creatives, vocal health practitioners and occupational therapists. With her experience and network combined, this makes Ellie a unique addition to any team.
Ellie is currently MD for The School For Scandal at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. She is also the MD for the UK touring production “Defying Gravity, West End Women”. Recent work includes Starter For Ten (Bristol Old Vic, 2024), There’s No Place Like Home (Charlie Kristensen Foundation, Lyric Theatre, West End), Oh What A Lovely War (UK Tour, Blackeyed Theatre), The Burnt City (Punchdrunk), The Color Purple (UK Tour), Lea Salonga’s Dream Again Tour (Royal Albert Hall), Six (West End / UK Tour / NCL), Frankenstein (Blackeyed Theatre, UK Tour), Collabro Greatest Hits (UK Tour), The One (Chesney Hawkes / Charlton Pettus) and The Last Five Years (Frankfürt Premiere). Other work includes Celebrating John Lord (Royal Albert Hall), the Teenage Cancer Trust: Bring Me The Horizon (Royal Albert Hall), as well as performing in rock bands and orchestras.
Her album recordings include My Parade (Stephanie Fearon), The MS Song Cycle (Rory Sherman / SimG Productions), Stitched Shoes and an Irish Wristwatch (Buswell - trumpet and piano), and Dear Pariah (piano and accordion)
Ellie regularly teaches and leads workshops at numerous performing arts colleges and institutions, including the Royal Academy of Music, Mountview, NYMT, Arts International, Institute of the Arts in Barcelona, and works as a guest artist at the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy in Dubai. The core of Ellie’s work is focused on joy, and nurturing a connection between performers and audiences.
